Installing Guest Additions

When I try to install guest additions on a XP guest, I get the following error message :(

Why?

Do you know what the error means?

The GA can't be found on the location that's in the error. Which version are you using, because the latest version doesn't install in Program Files\Sun\xVM..., but in Sun\VirtualBox.

The other message in the same error means it doesn't have the proper privileges to write the file. It might be read only. Check that by browsing to the folder in Windows Explorer and check it's properties.

I'm using 3.0.4

No those files have no special permissions... have also tried running as administrator, no difference

The ISO, is it in the location that's mentioned in the screenshot, or is the path slightly different?

The VirtualBox.xml file, what are the security privileges from that file? You can see those if you open the properties of the file, then tab Security. Your user should have full control on it.

Well I reinstalled, and it all works fine now lol. Thanks anyway :)
