how can i install OSs in virtual box

hi guys
I'm new user in virtual box and I've some question
my OS is winXP and i wont to remove it and install new os
but I've a problem here
my CD/DVD drive is not working any boot CD or DVD inserted then refused and not booted
then i think use virtual box to do this
my question here
with virtual box can I install new OS like fedora inside the windows like installing in live CD?
mean i wont to install fedora like winxp when i turned on PC the boot option is appeared and required selecting an os :?:

Please see the VirtualBox FAQ and read up what a Virtual Machine is and does. Any OS you install in it, will not be visible on the real computer until you start the VM manually.

just answer me virtual box can dual booting? mean i don't need virtual computer but i need really OS?
can virtual do that :?:

I'm not sure I understand your question, but will try to answer it.

VirtualBox provides you with a virtual computer where you can install an OS in without the need to change your configuration or partitions. When you start your computer, you can then, after your main OS is loaded and you're logged in, start the virtual machine and you get that OS. It cannot boot the virtual OS outside your Host OS. That's something a Type 1 hypervisor does, VB is a type 2. See wikipedia for the hypervisor explanation.
