[partially SOLVED] Many networking issues

Few questions from new VBox user.
I've installed VirtualBox 3.0.4 on XP with DSL modem with cable connection and under it Debian. Everything sort of worked. Terribly slow upload). Why?

That same .vdi is used on other XP host that has GlobeTrotter HSDPA USB modem. No network. Why?
Again, that same .vdi is used on Vista host with DSL modem, cable connection. No network. Why?

I've practically brute forced probably every setting for each problem and probably read everything of any relevance in User Manual. Nothing.
Can anyone help? Can it be that vdi works only on box where it was set up?

Solved problem of moving .vdi. It remembered MAC from original adapter. Edited /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules to all show eth0.
Now there's just problem of slow upload.
