Running VirtualBox displays the opening window but freezes my computer. The mouse moves, but the computer no longer responds to either the keyboard or the mouse. The only way out is a hard reset. I first tried a clean install on my Jaunty 32-bit partition. I could not solve the problem. I created a new partition and installed the 64-bit Jaunty. VirtualBox 64-bit installed, but when I run it, it shows the first VB window and then freezes the computer. At this point I have not even had the choice to install a guest OS.
I am running on a new Asus P5N7A-VM motherboard with a Core Duo E6300 and 4GB RAM. Hardware virtualization is enabled by default.

Replaced the nvidia graphics driver 180 with the older 173. Works fine now.

Re: [Update] Running VB freezes computer
The 173 driver had problems. The image would tear. Replaced with the new 190.18.03 driver. Very smooth now.
