Simulating drive failure
Hi, Is there a way to simulate drive failure using the means of virtualbox? I did not find anything in forum or docs, but it indeed would be useful to simulate at least hot plugging out or hardware failure.

Re: Simulating drive failure
AFAIK there is nothing like that in the standard builds, but you could always create your own build of the OSE version and add that feature to it

Or stick 2 drives in your pc, mirror them, place vdi on that and pull the power kabel.

Re: Simulating drive failure
That would be an actual drive failure, not a simulated one. It would mainly affect software running on the host (eg. Vbox itself). It's unpredictable how it would be seen inside the guest.vbox4me2 wrote:Or stick 2 drives in your pc, mirror them, place vdi on that and pull the power kabel.
