[Solved] Virtualbox Freezes up on shutdown

hello all i am not even sure what info you would need form me to try and help fix this problem, my VB freezes when i try to shut it down, it shows a load screen gets to 70% then everything gos grey and it wont respond to anything in order for me to get rid of it i have to manually shut down my computer by holding in the power button. Thankyou for any help

Really a bump on a Sunday evening at 30 minutes after the original post.

Click on the Machine tab at the top left of the VBox window then ACPI shutdown and see if this will close it cleanly.

didnt respond. is there a 64 bit version and a 32 bit version could that be the problem?

Well the install usually has both in them these days. If you can boot it at all then you should have the proper version. Did you do as I suggested and did it work?

i did as you suggested, and it didn't respond to the click at all. i even tried saving mode and it gets to 100% then freezes infact it has been frozen since last night, i thought it might close on its own but i dont think there is any hope of that.

I have no clue. Usually this kind of thing has to do with ACPI. Since you have tried to click the ACPI shutdown and it did not shutdown as it should you might need to post a ticket with bugtracker. Link is at the bottom of my post. You will need to setup an account there as well because it is on a different system.

tyvm for your time i just uninstalled the whole thing and am reinstalling it from package manager. i got the one i was haveing problem with from a web site hopfully this will solve the problem.

for whatever reason this has to do with the audio, i change the audio imput on vbox and byby problem..

Good. Can you post what you were using and what you changed to so others that have a problem like yours can find out?
