Cannot find addons.iso

Post by newmansan »

Image Anytime I try to start a virtual machine, I get the same error message. It happens to an xp, win 7, and linux guest OS.

I am running on a Vista host OS. This wasn't happening till I upgraded to 3.04. Also, I couldn't find the directory it mentioned. Help?

I tried running vbox as an administrator, and tried reinstalling.

The Media Manager still has the old GA ISO location in it's list and the ISO is still attached to your VM. Open the Media Manager and detach the ISO and remove it from the list. Now when you want to install the GA again, you simply use the Device menu like you did before, it should be registered from the correct location.
This error is because the name, and thus the installation path, changed during your upgrades (I don't know which version changed the name, but at least 3.0.0 already had it) from Sun\xVM VirtualBox to Sun\VirtualBox. The ISO is located in that folder.
