You already have what you wanted, a VM that can work on your wireless and wired network whenever the Host changes between these connections. The only problem you might get, is if you're connected to both at the same time with a default gateway that is accessible through both interfaces. The Guest OS could get confused or can't pick the right direction and fails to send data to the outside. Disabling one of the NICs, or pulling the virtual plug will solve that.

With what you have now, can you access the internet in the same way as the Host? Can you ping the Host from the Guest and vice versa (given that the firewall doesn't block it)?

I'm using the wireless connection on my host to access the internet.
On the guest, with the adapter bridged to the host wireless card, I can not access the internet. Also, I can not ping anything from the guest using either the wireless or wired connections.
However, from the host I can ping the guest adapter1 and adapter2

Internet may require a proxy server if your system administrator set one up at your work. Have you tried asking him what the problem might be? Maybe there is some security on the network preventing your VM to access the network. It is at work right?

It is at work and our administrator uses VMware so I think he will have set it up to work but I'll ask him.
