Firefox Connection Error on Installation

Post by MAGNUMHEART »

if someone knows how to solve my problem. pls feel free to help me. thx ^^

after i've installed virtual box 3.0.4 on windows 7.

i configure settings for testing windows server 2003. i've used NAT as and the recommended settings applied

then after a while i can't connect to any site on my host firefox.

i have tried restarting firefox but doesnt work, but i have yahoo msgr running and it works fine. and also on my torrent client.

the only network problem is firefox. i tried troubleshooting it but doesnt detect any errors.

i have checked services.msc but no entry were made/modified by virtual box.

after i cant seem to find a solution, i have uninstalled vbox and restarted my connection again

and there it worked again. (for firefox)

im looking for help so when i install vbox again, i would know how to deal with it.

pls give me tips on how can i use vbox normally.

what settings shud i apply on network adapters? or any ideas? thx for the support.

new to virtual box but 2nd time to use a virtual machine software.

Regards,

I have a similar problem, maybe related. When I am loading firefox and Pandora Radio, before starting my VirtualBox guest - there are no problems. When my guest is loaded prior to using Firefox on my host, Firefox locks up and maybe I can close the Firefox. When done the first way, no problems. So my thought is; either Firefox or Pandora is using the same ports or more likely the same threads as Virtualbox or is it Java? . I am using Firefox 3.5.5pre, but this issue shows itself in the official stable version 3.5.3. My host is Ubuntu 9.04 AMD64, my guest is WinXPx86. So as I am inputing this response, I think about Java and your issue.

What version of Java are you running? And on what OS? What version of Firefox?
