Problems with RDP + Windows 7 : Protocol Error

The problem I'm having is very similar to the one on thins thread:

I have a linux host width VirtualBox 2.2.4 r47978

Every thing works ok from linux (client of rdp) to any OS on the guest;
Every thing works ok from windows 7 to any linux guest;
When I connect from windows 7 to a windows guest, it connects but after a few seconds I get this error:
"because of a protocol error this session will be disconnected"

This is all with VRDP, right? You're not connecting to the Windows machines using their native RDP server? Any settings that are different concerning VRDP? What do the VM logs say?

Yes, I have a linux headless server (debian)...

my tests were from an ubuntu desktop (and every thing works ok)
and from a windows 7 (and I have the problem described when I connect to a windows guest)

EDIT: to clarify, I'm always connecting to host.domain:guest_vrdp_port_configured_on_host

I'm seeing the same issue; an RDP from vista SP1 works fine, but from win7 x64 it gets a protocol error. This is to the virtualbox VRDP server.

I have the latest 2.2 release.

Last time I tried 3.x I had major performance and stability issues, so I kept 2.2.4.

Should I try again the 3.x version?

I see nothing related to this on the changelog...

It's worth a shot. There have been some Windows 7 improvements, but I don't know if it was Guest only, or with VRDP too.
