[Solved] Copy VM from one machine to another?

I am brand new to Virtual Box and I am wondering if I could copy an Ubuntu VM I created at work for example to my home PC using the same version of Virtual Box (which happens to be 2.2). I created an Ubuntu Ruby on Rails dev VM and didn't want to go through all that again at home if I don't have to.

Thanks,

Jim

Sure. Take the VDI file and write down the settings. Create a new VM at home and when asked if you want to create a new HD tell it to use the one you have.
This supposes that you do not have snapshots saved. If you do you would need to merge them to get the full package on the other PC.

Thanks! I figured it was something like this, but I thought I would ask before embarking on trial and error. The odds that someone had done, or at least thought about doing this were pretty good.

That thought on itself should have triggered something for you to use the search, instead of new topic ;). It's been asked dozens of times before. Glad you got it working.
