How do I install USB support for a Windows 2000 guest (Linux host)?
I did a fresh Windows install, and installed guest additions, but a driver for the USB controller is not installed. Thanks for any pointers!

Re: How to install USB for Windows 2000?
I do have the PUEL edition installed, and I have already configured the workgroup. It looks like I have access to the USB devices through the VirtualBox menu.Perryg wrote:This should help you http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... 669#p33944
At this point...
Just for kicks, I tried connecting a USB device, and the Windows 2000 guest seems to be able to talk to the device despite reporting *not* having a driver for the USB host controller. So my setup seems to be functional despite the error.

Do you have USB 2.0 enabled for your Windows 2000 VM? It could be that your Windows 2000 is already using a working driver for USB 1.1 and complains about the USB 2.0 EHCI controller.mfeller wrote:Just for kicks, I tried connecting a USB device, and the Windows 2000 guest seems to be able to talk to the device despite reporting *not* having a driver for the USB host controller.
