My problem is my VM will not recognize any USB I attached to it. I don’t have any guest install because I want to boot some information from my USB. When the VM was running I right click the USB icon and select my USB by his name. Then I right click again the icon and position the mouse on the USB and a tooltip came out saying it was capture. But when I position the mouse only in the icon it set no USB is attached to the VM. I check on windows device manager, there u can see in network adapters that Virtualbox install the Virtualbox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter. The strange is that I don’t see the virtualbox USB that always is install in the Universal Serial Bus controllers. I had been using virtualbox for 2 years and I always see the virtualbox USB in the device manager.

I’m running Virtualbox in Vista 64

Things I try:
----try to install the VB USB drivers using Add Hardware browsing to the VB drivers in the VB driver folder. Here it sets that the driver’s r not compatible (I install the 64bit version of VB)
-----uninstall and install VB restart the computer a lot of times using different versions (The older version I use to had never give me the USB problem but now is does)
-----check VM setting and put the checkmark on USB controller 2.0 ect, and try the filter thing. No work
-----Whit USB filter set I plug the USB when VM running, nothing happen windows still had the USB. Start the machine with the USB plug, nothing happen.
-----Spent hours reading forums and all say the same thing about using USB filter and plug the USB in a specific moment.

I think my problem is with the VB USB drivers. In the VB installation I make sure that the USB drivers were selected. Please help me with this problem I’m thinking in changing to VMware.

You profile indicates that you are using the OSE version of VirtualBox. The OSE version does not support USB.

I doubt it's the OSE version, but better check that and update your profile otherwise.

Now, what you want to do, boot from USB inside VB, will not work. VB can NOT boot from USB devices. You have to install a VM the old fashioned way, or boot it that way. Create a bootable ISO from the USB drive, then VB can boot from it, but you won't be able to change the files.

I found the solution installing VMware. Starting a Virtual Machine in VMware a tooltip came out saying the USB support can’t be use, because a filter USB install in my PC. I was anger. I relax and go to uninstall programs remove the only thing related with filter. This was HP Amd USB audio filter. Run again the VM in VMware and the USB support work. Then run a VM in Virtualbox and the USB work to. The problem was solve.
