Making services visible outside the virtual machine

Ok, I'm a newbie at this. I know just what you wanted to hear, but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.
I loaded VB 3.0.4 and installed W2k3 on an OS X box. The load went well and I can access the Internet and resources on a local network. I am having difficulty in understanding the directions in the manual and I am lost in trying to figure out how to make the services, such as, file sharing or application sharing available to computers on the local network. Can you tell me how to access the Win Server loaded on VirtualBox on the OS X box from a computer on the local LAN?
