Hi
I am a new user to Virtual Box and face some problems setting up my internal Network.
I am using 1 Laptop with only 1 network card, which is linked to the company intranet (e.g. IP address 192.168.22.44).
I need to setup a Client / Server architecture on the same machine and using the Virtual Box.
Server runs Host (Windows XP) and needs to be linked to IP address 10.55.33.12
Client runs on the Vitrual Machine (Ubuntu Linux) and needs to be linked to IP address 10.55.44.17
Preferable, the Client / Servers should not have access to the company network.
But I am troubled setting up the network properly. Maybe my understanding of the mapping of the loopback adapters are wrong.
I tried already the search, but was not lucky.
Hope anybody can help
Regards
Lars

Re: Virtual Server / Client Setup
Read the Manual about the different ways of VBox networking.

Re: Virtual Server / Client Setup
I did, but unfortunately it did not work out.
I configured my network adapter to "Host-only"
I tried with static ID adresses and also DHCP server settings.
But I could not get a connection between guest and host, i.e could not get a ping trough.

Re: Virtual Server / Client Setup
Host/Guest in the same subnet range? firewall's off? gateway set accordingly or empty?
