Solaris 10 went through the entire installation without complaining, but the first boot encountered multiple corrupt .conf files in /kernel/drv. I have not yet tried the above circumvention with the Solaris install, but hope that the same fix will apply.
<EDIT> Solaris install with a single CPU was also successful.
OpenSolaris has been up now for a couple of hours without problems.
Probably need to start a bug report, but I'm way to new to VBox and OSol/Solaris to start tonight. Just glad I found a workaround to the problem.
Regards, Catalist.
