3.0.4 upgrade, XP Guest Freezes on Network Activity

(I originally posted this as a reply to the other thread about XP guests locking up, but that seemed like a more general problem. This one is specifically and repeatably networking related, so I've made it its own thread).
I've found pages describing a similar problem to mine and saying the problem was fixed in 3.0.2, but I'm running 3.0.4 and the following happens...
1/ When booting an XP virtual machine configured with a PCnet-FAST III adapter (which the virtual machine has a driver for, as used fine in Virtualbox 2.x.x) the virtual machine freezes during boot. (Virtualbox itself is still responsive).
2/ Changing it to be configured with an Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (which it doesn't have a driver for, yet) the machine boots fine and works fine. Configuring it with no network adapter also works fine.
3/ Immediately on installing the driver for the Intel PRO/1000 MT the virtual machine freezes. (Virtualbox is still responsive).
These scenarios are 100% reliably repeatable.
Host - Ubuntu 9.04, Guest - Windows XP Pro.
Let me know what I can do in regards to sending you more info to debug.
Cheers,
Nev
