VirtualBox download too large to get in one session.

Post by kb9agt »

Hey all!

My time online is limited so I use FreeDownloadManager. My problem is that if the download gets interrupted in any way the download will not resume and gives me
2:30:27 PM 8/22/2009 Starting download...
2:30:27 PM 8/22/2009 Bad request. Possibly this is a bad URL
2:30:27 PM 8/22/2009 Pause 5 sec.

2:30:39 PM 8/22/2009 Starting download...
2:30:40 PM 8/22/2009 Bad request. Possibly this is a bad URL
and so on.
Can I get a bit torrent of VBox? Where? Why is the server not set up for download resume? Could someone e-mail me a copy?
I know it will resume then.

Google virtualbox torrents
It has a few, but understand that I am in no way telling you that this is safe by any means and you might pick up a nasty bug.
Use at your own risk.

Instead of using a download manager, try the Opera browser (www.opera.com) and get it with that browser. It has a build in manager for downloads and I noticed that it often resumed a download when a separate download manager couldn't (I'm talking about years ago when I used a download manager the last time though).

If you have such a limited time on the web, you can also ask a friend or relative that doesn't have this limit to download it for you, which you can then copy using an USB stick.
