Can't install Windows XP x64 on Virtualbox

Hi! I'm new to the forum, and to Virtualbox as well.

I need some help...

Each time I boot with the xp x64 cd I get this error:

"Attempting to load an x64 operating system, however this CPU is not compatible with x64 mode. Please install a 32-bit x86 operating system.

Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit."

Which is quite odd, since I do have a 64 bit system (core2duo). Also, I've found somewhere that "VT-x/AMD-V" must be enabled, however, in my case it is grayed out, but selected.

Any ideas?

I get this exact same thing when trying to load Vista 64 guest. I think you have to enable hardware virtualization in the host's BIOS. I don't have this option and was hoping for a different answer.

It is possible that your CPU doesn't support VT-x/AMD-V. Please post details of your host system's specifications.
