[Solved] No autoresize or seamless mode w/W2K guest

PUEL v.3.04, Ubuntu Linux 9.04 host, Win2K/SP4 guest, Sony VGN-FJ270 laptop.
I had truecolor graphics in VM until I had to reinstall the OS. It doesn't appear that anything happens when I click on "install guest additions". Now "autoresize guest display", seamless mode, are greyed out, can only get 16-color at 800x600.
