Hello,

Trying to install 3.0.4 on a Windows 2000 (SP4+) host, I run the installer; it spits out the "preparing to install..." dialog for a brief moment, and then silently dies. No other activity is seen. A slightly closer look finds that the WIndows Installer service (msiexec.exe) is left started (but does not seem to do anything).

Has this been seen elsewhere? Any help? Is VBox even expected to install on Win2k?

Not supported. XP or newer is needed.

I'm sure that since 1.6.0, it's been on the website that 2000 is no longer supported as Host

Thanks folks. I'm sure you're right - I only looked in one place that said "we support Windows (primarily XP)..." so I was hopeful. My bad for not looking deeper into the docs. Thanks for the help.
