Hey,

I'm trying to get vbox 3.0.4 with bridged networking up and running on my windows xp system (system is booted over iscsi)

During Install when I select to install the drivers for bridged networking, I'm getting some messages popped up to warn me that the drivers were not certified for windows XP, when I just click continue to install the drivers my system crashes. I have to revert to windows XP last know good configuration to get my system up again. I also saw a message telling me that the network can be unavailable for a short time.

I think the problem I related to the fact I'm doing iscsi boot. Because I'm booted over the entwork I cannot allow temporally network outage.

Has anyone seen this problem, or better does anyone knows a workaround?

thanks in advance,

kristof

Is the VBox install also over the network? try putting the VBox install files locally.

The vbox installer was downlaoded to my downloads folder. But Since I'm doing iscsi boot, it wasn't really local.

So I tried to copy it to a local usb flash disk, and I ran the installer directly from the usb flash drive.

During install it's installing some drivers. and here is fails again. My windows xp just crashes, probably because access to the disk is lost.

For me it looks like vbox can't be installed (when you check the enable bridged networking) on systems that are booted over iscsi :-(

Does nobody knows a workaround on how to install the bridged networking drivers without loosing my network connection??

Am I really the only one ever who tried to install vbox on a windows based iscsi booted system?

Thanks in advance for all replies.
