[Solved] 3D Acceleration

Host= Windows 7 RTM
Virtual Box Version= 3.0.4

When I first installed Virtualbox my Windows 7 install was using the Microsoft drivers windows found for my ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2. I setup my first Guest OS using Ubuntu 9.04 64bit and during the initial setup I was able to Enable 3D Acceleration. Since this time I installed the drivers provided by AMD\ATI as I expect those are better. Now when I try to setup a new virtual machine the option to Enable 3D Acceleration is grayed out.

Any suggestions on what might be wrong? At initial glance I don't see any ATI settings that looked promising. I'm guessing maybe OpenGL support has changed?

Or not fully supported, I'd go back to the ATI Radeon drivers.

Just to make sure I'm clear. It worked with the Microsoft drivers and NOT the ATI Radeon drivers. I would think the ATI Radeon drivers would have more features and functionality.

Weird, all of a sudden the option is no longer grayed out. Maybe a subsequent reboot did something.
