[Solved] How do I install Windows GUestadditions on mac host

Post by bsprowl »

Everything I've found on this states that this installation can be done from a menu item.

Where is this menu item? I looked both inside my running windows virtual box and outside it and can't locate it.

With the guest running and focused. At the top of the screen: menu devices item Install guest additions.
Some say: "You learn as long as you live".
My way: "You live as long as you learn".

I've booted into safe mode (since most people having problems are told to use safe mode).

I have my mouse inside the Windows virtual machine which has "Safe Mode" in all four corners. Focus is inside this Window. There is no menu inside this Window. I've opened the start Menu and looked for Anything about "Guest Additions" and find nothing related. I've explored most of the sub-menus for the Start button and find nothing related to "Guest Additions" or "Devices"

Found it.

thank you.

I keep forgetting that Apple has the menu bar at the top of the screen. I forget to look there; I'm not used to the menu bar not being at the top of the current Window.

I have made this mistake several times. I wonder how long it will before I remember to look at the top of the screen. I think I will start aligning all open windows with the top of the screen.
