Problem with Host-Only

I have 2 Host-Only Networks: vboxnet0 & vboxnet1 with IPv4 192.168.2.1 for vboxnet0 and 192.168.4.1 for vboxnet1.
First network works fine, but when a start guest OS on vboxnet1 something happens and VirtualBox changes ip on vboxnet1 to 192.168.2.1! What's wrong? I tried to reboot, to down and up interface, to sudo launch.. But every time I start guest OS on vboxnet1it changes ip!

Ok what does this give?

Code: Select all

VBoxManage list hostonlyifs
If that is not correct try using

Code: Select all

VBoxManage hostonlyif ipconfig <name> --ip<ipv4> [--netmask<ipv4> (def: 255.255.255.0)] |
                            --ipv6<ipv6> [--netmasklengthv6<length> (def: 64)]
To correct it.

Well I think your out of luck then see this from the manual
Host-only networking. Creation/deletion of host-only adapters are supported
for Windows hosts only presently. On other platforms, there is one fixed hostonly
interface called “vboxnet0” presently. This will change in a future release.
But it can't be far off as it tries to do it so in a few releases....
You could try adding a ticket to the bugtracker if it should work and the manual is wrong.

I'm very interested in a solution to this as well. It appears there is already a ticket for it, but not much activity on it recently.

Has anybody else had any luck?
