Make sure all guest settings are identical especially mac address and type of network cards.
Some say: "You learn as long as you live".
My way: "You live as long as you learn".

As Baf implies XP detects "significant changes" to the H/W environment and this triggers reactivation. The topic Howto: Windows XP in both VM and native and its linked discussion topic talk about these issues in depth plus workarounds, so I won't repeat this here. One trigger is the a change in MAC address is assumed to be a different network card. You can fix the MAC address to the the same on all VMs, which means that you can only run one at a time -- which you would do of course since the instance is associated with a single licence. Also moving the VM from an Intel CPU to an AMD one might cause probs. Research through the referenced topics.
