[Solved] windows xp can't enable Local Area Network

I'm having trouble getting my WinXP guest to use the network. Every time I try to enable the adapter, the machine execution halts. I have tried running 'sfc /scannow' in Windows and it verified that all system files were good, so I don't know what could be wrong, I just reformatted my whole drive so it's a pretty new installation.

I tried uploading vbox.log and vbox.png but the server told me only 128kb were allowed in uploads, so I tried posting them and the server told me my post had too many characters in it, so I uploaded them to mediafire, here's the link http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=56c6 ... f6e8ebb871

Any suggestions appreciated greatly

Did you try the other adapter? update the intel drivers in the Guest?

I got smart and tried uninstalling the adapter from Device Manager. When I scanned for hardware changes and reinstalled it, VBox crashed again. When I rebooted, the adapter was installed, activated and able to ping. Thanks for the suggestion, I'm not sure what you meant by updating the Intel driver but it gave me the idea to try this lol.
