Install 3.0.4 on ubuntu 9.04 64bit

Hi.
Hope this is the correct place for my question. First time here as virtualbox is so good and easy to use.
Having said that I have a problem installing the latest version. In the past I've just run the .deb non-ose.
Downloaded the current .deb for my system as above but it will not install correctly. It runs and synaptic shows it as installed, however no menu item appears under the Applications-system tools. Typing "virtualbox" into a terminal gives an application not installed message! Even though synaptic says it is. I've uninstalled with synaptic and run the previous version .deb file and all is back to normal!

Is anyone else having trouble installing 3.0.4 .deb on Ubuntu 9.04? Is it something simple I'm doing wrong?

You need to reboot after installing before VirtualBox will show up in the menu.

Also, linux in case sensitive. You have to run "VirutalBox" in a terminal. "virtualbox" will not work.

Rebooting is too much, log out and back in is enough. The menu sometimes doesn't update when VB is installed, so forcing a rebuild of the menu by logging out and back in will work.

Thanks for the replys.
Had tried logging out and then in. Also a reboot. No luck.
Just did a "remove completely" in synaptic of the earlier version I had re-installed. Then ran the .deb again and all's well!!
No idea what went wrong yesterday except that I hadn't un-installed the old version first!
Thanks again for your comments.
