I remember seeing a virtualbox doc once with networking modes explained with images but i can't remember it or find it again.
Searched through different versions of the manuals, whitepapers, blueprints and ofcourse google.
I don't even know if it was an official doc.

Can anyone help me get this document again or is my mind just playing tricks on me ?

I can't particularly remember the manual having pictures for networking modes since I started using VB (which was version 1.5.6). Maybe you read someone's blog that had all the pictures you needed.
The GUI changed quite a bit over the past few releases, and I find text almost as explaining as a picture, but that's only my point of view. After all, they say 'a pictures says more than a thousand words'.
