Virtualbox only opens once

Host: Windows XP Home, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, 3GB memory
Virtualbox version: 3.0.4

Hi there,

I'm having a problem with Virtualbox - If I use virtualbox for while then close it, I can't open it again without first logging out or rebooting.
When I do I get a "Virtualbox.exe: This task is not responding" error. I've tried stopping all Vbox processes (VBoxSVC.exe, Virtualbox.exe etc.) through task manager but I still get the error message.

Does anyone happen to know a fix for this, or is it something that should go in the bug tracker?

When down the Vbox program and before you reboot or try to start the VBox program, open the task manager and see if there is an instance of VBoxsvc.exe still running.
Let us know.

Yes there is, however even if I end the process virtualbox refuses to open

It looks like a com error for some reason. You may want to turn in a ticket for this at bugtracker. Link is below my post. You will need to create a login there because it is on a different system. Be sure to search for other tickets first, and submit your vbox log file.
