Network Gaming

Post by AndreeeCZ »

Hi guys im new here.
I am running virtual pc with winXP under winVista host.
We want to play some older games with friend (not IPX)
that dont run under vista.

The problem is, that i can see their shared folders, but they can't see mine.
But what is worse, i dont see their hosted network games and they
dont see mine. I set the connection to be bridged in virtualPC settings.

Thanks for your help.

Are you running Virtual PC or are you using VirtualBox?
I am running virtual pc with winXP
Next we need more information. Are these people you are talking about local or are they trying to get to this over the Internet?
Break it down for us in detail.

using virtualBox, trying to get it locally.

Anyway, problem got fixed. It appeared, that the
ripped winXP i was using (BeastXP - derived from TinyXP)
had some necessary services missing, so careful about those.

Thank you anyway, i find virtualBox perfect.
