[Solved] virtual box 3.0.4 wont install

Im new to virtual box, anyways when i try to install it it asks me to insert a virtual box cd because the feature you are trying to install is on it. Then it exits the install wizard. Here is a snapshot of what happens.

What if you insert the XP cd? or redirect it somewhere else, does it then show what file it is looking for?

Ok i inserted my disc and it didnt find what it is looking for. It is looking for "VirtualBox-3.0.2-r49928-MultiArch_x86"

1/ use Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove installation information.

2/ VirtualBox 3.0.x unattended silent install

Search your HD for "VirtualBox-3.0.4*.msi" and click on that one when it asks.

I just did an uninstall of 2.x and installed the latest 3.0.4 and the installer said that vboxnetadp.sys was missing. I skipped the install of the file, and so far things seem "ok", but I believe it is probably the same problem this person had.

I've tried looking my HD for the msi file. Couldn't find it, then tried inserting my xp disc and there was nothing on there. I even tried downloading 3.0.2 and see if it would accept that but it didn't.

Where did you get the VirtualBox program from?
Your profile says OSE debian, is this correct?

Assuming that you did download the right one for you system. It could be that it failed to download properly.

Should be the file that you downloaded and maybe you should try again.
Save it to your desktop for now so you will be able to find it and then try to install again.
