VirtualBox fails to load after a 3d game is played on host

Hi,

I have been working with Virtual box 3.0.4 and the previous version where I have noticed this problem. On a Vista ultimate x64 system (AMD phenom 2 - virtualization enabled), I am unable to start the virtual box manager if I have played a 3d game on the host. In task manager I can see that the process has started for virtual box, but the window doesn't appear and the host becomes slow to respond and difficult to restart. Once restarted I can run virtual box without issue.

Can anyone point me in the direction of why this might be and how to fix it?

Thank you

What is the game?
Also can you check to see if the game actually quit cleanly? Look int the task manager while running and the after you have stopped it.

For example, playing Battlefield 2. I will test with other games.

Looking in task manager the game has exited okay. The host performs fine otherwise so there is no indication of resources being held up. Is there some kind of log that virtualbox writes to when it starts?

Not in VBox per-say but Vista should be able to report problems to you . Type reports in the search window above the start button and select problem reporting, or look in the system events logs and see if you find something.
