Autodesk 3ds Max 2009
Loaded Vista on the Vbox. Installed 3ds Max with no issues. Ran it and everything is there except the view panels will not show any content. Did a few searches here and on Google with no luck. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Re: Autodesk 3ds Max 2009
I'm getting the same using the trial of 3ds max 2009.
Host = Arch Linux x86_64
Guest = XP SP3
Virtualbox 3.0.6 (r52128)
Log & screenshot attached.
I found a ticket but it was assigned to a prior release & there's been no recent comments: http://www.virtualbox.de/ticket/3091

Re: Autodesk 3ds Max 2009
Got this to work for me and I had the same problem.
I'm running 3DSMax 2012, so the menus might not be the same but you basically have to go to your preferences->viewports. Change your driver to OpenGL.
Hardware: Macbook AIR
VirtualBox Version: 4.1.2

Re: Autodesk 3ds Max 2009
hey mruiz,
i'm in a similar situation
i'm trying to install 3dsmax onto my windows 7 guest (running on macbook pro)
i've installed the guest additions (not the experimental one), enabled 3d accelerator (2d isn't), i have 2 gb base memory, 64mb video memory.
can you tell me what i have to do to install 3dsmax 2012?
thanks very much
