Mouse disappears after disabling smooth auto capture

Post by Hojo1206 »

VBox: 3.0.4
Host: Mac OSX Leopard
Guest: Windows XP SP3

I Realize similar situations have been addressed on these forums, but I have searched and searched and the solutions people have found don't quite fit my scenario.

After installing guest additions, which i did not do i safe mode but everything seems to be running fine except, my mouse would disappear after disabling the smooth auto capture. The smooth auto capture works fine but i have noticed when i try playing a game COH(City of Heroes) the mouse gets buggy. It becomes a black box instead of a mouse and the scrolling to zoom my camera in and out is jumpy, when normally it is fine running regular applications. Now I have read that some programs don't like the auto-capture and the forums suggested to turn it off. So i try to turn auto capture off, but the graphic of the mouse disappears. The only way i know it is there, whether i am in the game or not, is when i mouse-over something. Now it does re-appear when i open something like My computer, but when i open COH it disappears again but this time when i click something the mouse does not reappear.

Is there anything i can do to keep from the mouse disappearing?

I don't know if this will help or not but I usually suggest turning down or off the video acceleration inside the Windows guest for drawing issues.
Try that and see if it fixes your problem.
