VB 3.0.4 with amd fx55

Post by gpnet »

Hi to all, Guys

I Have a problem on my pc with windows xp pro sp3. the processor is a AMD FX 55.

Every time I try to launch VB on this machine the machine crashes with blue screen. The installation usually goes ok.
Initially I thought the problem was due to working in progress of VB, but now I downloaded the last released version v3.0.4 and also seem to me that the win version is unified for x86/64 processor.

Has any one here had problems with this machine , processor or what else and VB. ??
Has any one can suggest me anything to get rid of these issue.

Thanks to all
Joss

Could you open a ticket on our bug tracker, include a VBox.log and a minidump?

For minidumps see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263

You can fetch the log file by right clicking on the VM icon in question and select 'Show log'. Attach to the ticket instead of copy/paste please.

Thank you Sander,
well for the minidump I have got it because I had already setup this option time ago. So I can attach the 2 minidumps I have.

In order to the log file can not get it because the option to view the log is inside the VM ( menu->machine->Visualize LOG )
I also searched the whole disk But I didn't find anything line VBox.Log.1 ect...

Last question for create a bug ticket; I must re-register with different credential ??. I have already register But if I type my credential I got a message saying that the user name or password are wrong. What does it mean ??

Waiting instructions

You need to reregister for the bug tracker. I'll have a look at the minidumps you attach there and then we can see if I need more information. Thanks.

Is your FX-55 on the socket 939? I have an AMD FX-60 on socket 939 running without issues. Currenly, my Windows is broken, but on Ubuntu it runs just fine. When I had a working Windows XP, which obviously ran an older VB version (somewhere in the 2 range, 2.2.4 or so, could be older), I had no problems.

I think yes , I have a socket 939. To be sure could I check this with tool like SIW ( sysinternals ) ?.

I tried to install and launch from version 2.2.4 with same problem. The fact the system crashes doesn't permit to get any log to help us, but the minidump.
