USB device blocking guest system

Post by AlGaN »

Hello,

I'm developing in a Virtual Box 2.2.4 VM, guest system: Windows XP Prof. SP2, host system: Ubuntu Intrepid 32-bit. I need to connect a USB UHF-RFID (Kenetics USB-UHF reader) reader device to the system. But I can only connect it once, every other try gets blocked/locked. The program connecting to the reader blocks until I disconnect the reader from USB devices menu and reconnect it.
I searched the VB log, but there are only a few lines indicating the connection of the device:
09:18:03.073 VUSB: attached '6e3b18f8[proxy 8086:feed]' to port 2
09:18:44.689 USB: Successfully reset device '6e3b18f8[proxy 8086:feed]'
09:26:28.750 VUSB: attached '6e3b18f8[proxy 8086:feed]' to port 2
Connecting the reader to a native installed WinXP / Vista system doesn't block the program... (with the same installed USB driver for the reader)

If anybody has any hints or workarounds for these kind of issue I'd very appreciated.

Seems nobody has similar probs. So my other question is: Are there any means to debug USB connection (sth like an USB "debugger" which hangs between VM and device)?
