Canon PowerShot S30 USB Camera not detecting in Winxp Guest

Hey, i am running winxp guest inside win7 host, i have a major problem with my usb camera detecting in winxp, it works like once in 10-15 tries but on next reboot again i have to fiddle around till it works. Basically, win7 detects but canon does not have driver for win7 so i installed winxp in virtualbox since it has virtual usb,
after win7 detects and tell it cannot install driver for canon, i goto usb devices in virtualbox and select canon, it says installing virtual usb driver on win7 host, sometimes that works, sometimes it fails saying 'device unplugged', if it works then sometimes canon autoruns in winxp guest, but most of time there is no activity, nothing, if i select canon again from usb devices in virtualbox, virtualbox winxp hangs
hope i am clear, hope there a solution, simple plug and play
