Using VirtualBox 3.0.2 and XP Service Pack 3 can not get it to find any bootable media. Have googled? and tried pass through enabling, checked settings show drive location, tried iso from file location. Have tried with iso's for Solaris and Solaris-X86 both open and Sun versions and checked that they are bootable. Even re-installed VirtualBox. Would be grateful for any help as believe it is something fundamental to the install and not the iso's, suspect is it something to do with how it is picking up the device paths. But do not know enough about how to check.
Running on a Fujitsu Siemens Laptop that I have configured to dual boot with Windows XP and Solaris 10-X86.
Would be grateful for any help as to how I get this working.

Re: No Bootable Media Found All OS's
All you should need to do is in the guest settings -> CD/DVD Click on Mount and then iso or Host. If using the iso select the iso file from the media manager or add one if it is not there and then say OK.
See screen shot. This probably will not work so well on removable media like USB (not sure though).
Passthrough should not matter unless you are on a MAC host as far as installing goes. One other thing to remember about the install media, when you burn an install disk it should not be just a copy the iso file to the CD/DVD you must burn an image, otherwise it will not boot. Plus burn it slow. Most of the times the CD/DVD do not work right is due to burn speed and errors.

Re: No Bootable Media Found All OS's
Thanks for the reply and the screen shot. The problem seems to be that VirtualBox does not pick up the iso file from the CD or Disk as in your screen-shot on any cd including the Sun Standard Installations CD which I know works as does the others I have tried. I think this is a problem with VirtualBox itself.
Thank you for your screen shot I have now got a workaround, looking at the software and finding that there is an iso in the
C:\Program Files\Sun\xVM VirtualBox which works. I have copied over my iso file into the directory and the software can now find it.
So this looks like some kind of pathing issue as to where it is looking for the file. It doen't matter where I tell it look for the file it can't find it unless its in this directory.
Does anyone know where these settings are and how they can be changed. If not I will log a bug. But at least I can get it working for now.
This may not be an issue with VirtualBox but could be an issue with Windows Pathing.

Do you see the folder with the green ^ on it? That should bring up the media manager where you click the add tab and then drill to the location of the install file. Are you saying that you do it this way and it does not work?
