Hi
I've just setup VirtualBox on our XP home server. On that i'm running a virtual Windows Server 2003. All installed fine, but when it starts up i get a continuous beeping noise. thats not actually my biggest problem however, as i can mute the pc and not worry about it. The main problem is the mouse is running very slowely. I did momentarily stop this by changing the colour to 24bit at which point an error message appeared saying something like it's not configured for 24bit color. It then reverted back to 32bit. I then restarted the server and tried this again and it changed to 24bit no problem. The only thing is it no longer solved the slow mouse problem.
The server has 2GB RAM and is running an amd athlon dual core 2.5GHz. The virtual OS is running on 800MB RAM and 32MB of video memory. Both OS's are legal, not that that really makes any difference.
I should also point out that i'm accessing the XP box through remote desktop from my Win7 computer. This is because the xp box is under the stairs supplying the houses internet connection.
