I am a little confused about the whole live migration, feel free to flame me, if there is a large sign I have missed where all the answers are on.
I am investigating what kind of virtualization solution and setup is best for me, and have been trying lots of different software/hardware setup's lately. Currently std winxp64 because of school work and compatibility with pastime events.
According to the wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison ... s#Features it is possible to live migrate in the closed soruce edition.
I also remember seeing a migration or live migration button or "thing" grayed out in the Ubuntu 9.04 JJ 64bit (PUEL) version, i haven't got that os installed as i am in
on the one conference 2008 one roadmap item was live migration.
So, is fare as I can tell. Work is being done to make live migration a standard feature?
If it is being worked on how fare is it? Is it on idea base, or is it just around the corner?
Thanks
Johii
Live migration?
Re: Live migration?
That wiki is wrong, as far as I know it is not possible yet to do this with VBox, there are only hardware solutions you can use.
