Ubuntu 9.04 host, Windows 7 Guest Audio Driver Problem
Posted: 1. Aug 2009, 22:35
my setup is ubuntu 9.04, VirtualBox 3.0.2, and Windows 7RC.
The install of windows 7 is fine, the guest additions install fine. The speaker control in windows is always X'ed out and windows cannot find a driver for it. I've instealled the RealTek audio drivers which install OK but do not fix the problem. The image is configured with pulseaudio and ICH97. Ive tried 32bit and 64bit windows 7, same results.
Device Manager shows:
-- Other Devices
-- (!) Multimedia Audio Controller
If i right click and use "update driver software", the Automatic update finds nothing, and if I point the manual update to the folder with the realtek drivers, it says it finds nothing suitable.
