Hello all,
I'm just getting my feet wet with VirtualBox 3.0.2.
I just finished installing Windows Server 2008.
I need to assign it a static IP address of 192.168.1.10 with a 24-bit subnet mask.
My router address is 192.168.1.1
I'm setting up 2008 to be a domain controller with DHCP and DNS services running, so I need a static IP address (since I'm creating set up documentation for server 2008)
But when I assign myself the static ip address, subnet mask and gateway..I can not get out of local only mode..when I set the server NIC to dhcp, i'm issued 10.0.2.15 as an address and 10.0.2.2 as the gateway, and can access the internet
Any ideas on what i'm missing or where I should start?
Thanks in advance gang..

Re: Set up Static IP on VM running Server 2008
It looks like you have your network set to NAT in the guest settings of the VM. Switch it to Bridged and it should work for you.
