I've installed virtual box 3.0.2 in my ubuntu 8.10 as host. so then i've ubuntu server 9.04 as guest.
if i type ifconfig i get 10.0.2.15 as guest's ip, but if from my host i open shell and i type: ping 10.0.2.15 i dont get anything, what can i do to connect from my host to my guest?

either use a bridged or host interface rather than NAT and that way the guest has a properly addressable IP address or if you want to stay with NAT then use Port Redirection to redirect host:2222 -> guest:22. You then connect to the guest by ssh to (local)host:2222. Search the forum for 2222 and you'll find example of how to do this.

You do this through the VBox GUI on the host. If you copy and reuse the same MAC address then you don't need to muck about clearing out the udev resolution files (e.g. /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules). Again there are lots of posts discussion this problem.
