Hello,
I've recently started using VirtualBox in order to run a Window XP guest on my Windows7 system for certain work needs and have been very pleased with how well everything worked for the most part.
However, I haven't been able to get my mouse to be recognized as a USB mouse inside the guest in order to have access to the functionality of all buttons, at the moment the system regards it as a standard 3 button mouse. If I allocate the USB device (of the mouse) to the guest system it will correctly identify the mouse but it also makes it completely unavailable to the host, which is of course a considerable problem.
Is there a way to get my mouse to be identified correctly inside the guest and still be fully available to both host and guest?
Thanks in advance.
USB Mouse support on Guest OS.

Re: USB Mouse support on Guest OS.
Not really. VirtualBox uses it own mouse driver so it can control the mouse integrations that allows you to pickup the focus of the host or guest simply by moving the mouse and clicking. The only way that I have seen this work is to use a second mouse configured in the USB filters of the guest. Since this usually causes me problems with grabbing the wrong mouse from time-to-time, I deemed it as not a viable solution and just live with the single mouse without the extra functions.

Thanks for your reply Perryg, it certainly clears things up.
Hopefully in future versions of VirtualBox we might see support for both guest/host seamless mouse integration and for more than 3 buttons.

Who knows the things? I have been using VirtualBox for a long time and with each major release they always seem to include something new and worth while.
