Redirect audio from guest to host?

Redirect audio from guest to host?

hi,

host: win vista 32bit
guest win xp 32bit
vbox 3.0.2

audio works fine on the guest, but i wanna hear the audio of the guest, even when its minimized.
is there a way to redirect the guest's audio to the host?

help appreciated

AFAIK there is not, at least not easily.
You really need to look at this as two separate computers in the same case.
Specifically if you wanted to hear music that was playing on the guest you could stream the music and pick up the stream on the host, but the overheard would be high, plus you would not hear everything that would be produced on the guest, dig sounds, notification sounds, Etc...

i tried it with ventrilo:

set up a server and joined host and guest in...

as input i specified stereomix on the guest, it should now send the guests audio but somehow stereomix is not working

i tried to record stereomix audio with the audiorecorder but there was nothing

any idea?
