How could I save my VirtualBox?

Post by Ubrewery »

Hi,

After a backup I've formatted my /home partition. Now I've restored everything except my VBox.
Infact I've still got my .vdi file but nothing else. No one for the others files o directories there were in /home/myuser/.VirtualBox cause some backup's file are damaged.

The host machine is on Mandriva 2008.1 and the guest is Windows XP. I've tried to create a new machine giving my .vdi file like hardisk image but when i try to run Windows a blue screen appear for a second and then it restarts.

Is there any way to get it back working?

Thanks

Paolo

Set the VM settings as you used before, more then likely 3d,usb,vt-x,apic,shared folders settings.
