Install for all user.

Post by orela »

Hello

I have Ubuntu 9.04.
I installed VBOX 3.0.2 (AMD 64) on it.
I installed windows in the Vbox.
The problem is that the windows was installed in my home directory and other users can't use it.
How can i move/install it if i want that all the user will be able to use it?
I want that when other users will run the VBOX they will be able to run windows.
My second question is how can i backup this install (on disk on key for example)?
and how to run it from there?

thanks

Please read the Forum Posting Guide more carefully, especially the part about searching for information here on the boards. This question has been asked and answered several times before. It wasn't asked the way you ask it, but more in lines of how to share the VM with other users. Take a look at the manual too, about the environmental variable VBOX_USER_HOME. If you set that, and move the VM files to the right location, it should be accessible for every user that is a member of the vboxusers group. Don't forget to adjust the settings files of the VMs reflect the new location.
