I've noticed that when in my XP guest, my Belkin KVM seems to be causing the "Alt" key to fire every thirty seconds.
When I used XP natively with the KVM, that behavior did not occur.
Has anybody experienced this or have any ideas?
[Resolved] KVM & Alt Key Issue
Re: KVM & Alt Key Issue
It might be that the KVM gets detected as a usb device, or bad grounding on the kvm box. Are you using usb leads from the central connection to the Host?

Re: KVM & Alt Key Issue
Why yes, it is connected via USB. I should have mentioned that, I suppose.
From the KVM to the managed units, it's USB connections. From the KVM to the keyboard and mouse, it's PS2 connectors.

Re: KVM & Alt Key Issue
Well, it turns out that I had the USB controller disabled in the guest VM configuration, so I don't think it's a matter of both the host and the guest trying to grab the USB KVM.
Re: KVM & Alt Key Issue
I've decided this issue is not related to VirtualBox.
I noticed that my host OS xscreensaver password prompt activates every thirty seconds when no keys are pressed. That leads me to believe this is a OpenSolaris/KVM problem and not a VirtualBox problem.
