Guest downloading + programs causes high cpu load on host

Hi,

I have been searching the Internet for an answer to my problem, but I can't find it. I have seen that there are other users experiencing the same symptons.

My host is Debian Lenny
Vbox = 3.0.2 ( Closed source edition )
Have guest additions installed.
Guest is XP and Win 2003

Whenever I start downloading (creating network traffic) on the guest. The CPU of the host spikes up to 70% - 100%.

For example:
On the guest I am connecting to the webserver on the host. This causes the host cpu to jump. Copying over samba is also terribly slow because of the high cpu load.

I have already switched the network adapter from the guest, doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone has some sort of solution to this ''problem'' or is it just me experiencing this.

Thank you for your time.

Mike

*edit*
It appears than whenever I move the mouse in the guest this causes the CPU to go up as well. CPU load will be around 30 - 50 %
Whenever I start ex. Firefox or another program the CPU will stay at 50 % or more.

It sounds like a Guest kernel issue or some VM settings the kernel doesn't like, often seen with migrated systems.
